Client Objective
Team Glyphic works with Canon on the Systems 21 Project
as part of the Architecture Team to help modernize
Canon??s infrastructure, systems and business processes.
Canon??s objective of Systems 21 is to rebuild core applications
to eliminate inflexibility of the existing IT applications
in handling growing business needs.
Canon approved the Architecture Group and requested
the Architecture Team come up with Architecture standards
for the new system.
The objectives of the new system were
- Implement a unified, robust and scalable architecture
that promotes common designs.
- Decrease the technical complexity of assets to license,
maintain and upgrade.
- Promote use of standard technologies and consistent
architectures.
- Minimize changes to legacy systems in communicating
with new S21 systems.
Glyphic Solution
Glyphic has been an active and leading partner on the
architecture team and provided SOA & Message Broker
solutions as part of the S21 Application Integration Architecture.
Glyphic performed analyses of Canon??s Needs and
recommended the technology/tools for the application and
integration architecture.
Glyphic??s S21 Integration Team members performed a gap
analysis of existing integrations between legacy systems and
current Service Oriented Architecture environments, addressing
all the points between S21 applications and legacy
3rd party systems.
Glyphic then completed the proof of concept that evaluated
the tools chosen to work with Canon on its solutions
and introduced IBM WebSphere Message Broker for the
S21 implementation.
Glyphic??s team served as subject matter experts, architecting
and approving all integration efforts utilizing WebSphere Message Broker. The S21 Integration Framework
provides audit services for data flowing through and Alert
Notifications, Error Handling and Recovery/Reprocess of
